Membership

We are currently 100 members strong but we're looking to reach 250 members this year. Please remember, our strength lies in our members, so the more members we have, the stronger we are - Together we can make a difference in the lives of the children.

If you haven't done so already, please join us, membership dues are only $7.00 per individual.

$20.00 for 2007 - 2008 Carmen Dragon PTA Members $22.00 for Non-PTA Members

 

Have candid shots from your student(s) class or school activities?
Please be sure to send in pictures from the past events and class parties! We want to include as many kids as possible in the yearbook and we just can’t do it ourselves.

 You can also send pictures to school in an envelope marked "Yearbook Pictures." Please label the back of any picture submitted with the grade and teacher and put in the PTA Mailbox in the school office.

PTA SPONSORED PROGRAMS and Events

Santa Shop (Chairperson; OPEN)
Mon, November 30, 2007 to Fri, December 4, 2007
This is an opportunity for students to shop for gifts for friends and family in the secure atmosphere of our school. We offer this event to give the students the opportunity to make real life shopping decisions, and all gifts are "Kid Priced".

Enchanted Evening with Santa (Chairperson: Deanna Goodeill)
Thursday, December 19, 2007
An evening of families coming together for holiday craft making, story telling and pictures with Santa.

Yearbook (chairperson: Kimberly Bailey)
Our PTA publishes a student Yearbook at the end of each school year. The Yearbook includes pictures of special events throughout the year and is put together by parent volunteers. In addition to events and activities, each student and staff member is pictured in our Yearbook. We welcome any photos taken at student activities and ask that you submit them to Kimberly Bailey in care of the school office or via email.

Super Reader Program (Chairperson: Laura Gay)
Runs October 1, 2007 thru March 30, 2008)
This is a reading incentive program administered by the Carmen Dragon PTA. This program is intended to be a supplementary approach to school learning, not a replacement for curriculum. The goal of the program is (1)To motivate and encourage reading among elementary-age students and (2)To create opportunities for adults and children to share time reading and make the goal of improved reading skills a family effort and goal.
