Excerpts from Parents Newsletter:

Your name in lights!...
We are offering an OPTIONAL opportunity for families to put their student’s name in lights! You can now wish your special students “Happy Birthday!” (ONLY option) on our school marquee! Simply come into the office and fill out a request form. The cost is $10 (CASH only) and is payable at the time of the order. ONLY birthday wishes will be accepted. (Half birthdays, if you have a summer birthday like Mrs. Del Chiaro!) Requests will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Funds raised from this project will benefit our school technology. See Mrs. Del Chiaro if you have any questions.

LET'S PLAY BALL...Spring Break Sports Camp:
LET’S PLAY BALL is a camp where kids are kept busy all day from the minute they get out of your car until the minute they get back in. They are involved in many fun activities, where they will learn sports fundamentals as well as life skills. Your kids come home tired, and very happy!

The camp will be run by experienced, creative, and responsible counselors. Each of the four counselors are credentialed/master teachers in the Bay Area that are extremely experienced in offering a wide range of sport activities, fun games for all, field trips and most important, a caring environment. Sports such as football, baseball, soccer, etc. will be taught on a daily basis. Your children will learn something new each day whether it is how to kick a ball, or how to work with a team.!

Patricia Polacco coming to Carmen Dragon(excerpt from January Newsletter)
Monday, March 19, 2007

Patricia Polacco is coming to Carmen Dragon!! This highly acclaimed and honored author will spend an entire day at Carmen Dragon on Monday, March, 19. Special assemblies will be held so that our students can have an intimate opportunity to meet and greet Ms. Polacco!

In anticipation of Ms. Polacco’s visit, CD students will be reading special books from her collection, learning about Ms. Polacco and participating in special reading activities. Each grade level is focusing on a specific book for their grade, as well as a school wide book that will be read in all classes.

To better prepare our students for Patricia Polacco’s visit, we are offering the opportunity to purchase any of her books from our local Slatten Ranch Barnes and Noble. While Ms. Polacco cannot sign each individual book on the day of her visit, students will receive a book plate that has been signed. An order form has been attached to this newsletter for your convenience. Pre ordered books will be delivered to school prior to March 19 and distributed to students.
